Gap Inc. was awarded with the “5 Year Plus Caring Company Award,” in Hong Kong to recognize the company’s demonstrated community involvement, commitment, and good corporate citizenship.
For the eighth year, Gap Inc. has made the list, which is organized by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS). This year, 374 companies were awarded from among more than 3,000 nominations.
The award selection is based on six main criteria, including volunteering, giving, mentoring, employing the vulnerable, caring for employees and caring for the environment.
Gap Inc. also received the “5 Year Plus” award for being continuously named to the list for more than five years.
“The award recognizes our continuous community involvement, commitment and contribution of being a corporate citizen,” said Sam Tang, VP and managing director for Gap Inc. in North Asia. “This recognition is a result of the work of many employees who contributed their money, time and effort in serving the community and employee wellness.”
Eva Sage-Gavin, EVP of Global Human Resource and Corporate Affairs, commented:
“Being recognized in the U.S., Hong Kong, and previously in India all point to the global impact and relevance of our company. It helps give our employees and customers a view to what we really stand for.”
