With peak holiday shopping season right around the corner, Gap Inc. brands Banana Republic and Athleta are launching an in-store pick up service for the modern, omni-channel customer. Buy Online, Pick Up In Store, or “BOPIS,” is now available at all U.S. stores for both brands.
“In a competitive retail environment, it’s more important than ever to meet the customers wherever and however they like to shop,” said Steve Peters, Senior Vice President of Banana Republic Global Stores. “We’re very excited to add BOPIS to the options for purchase and pickup together with Athleta to make it easier for busy customers to be in and out and on their way.”
With BOPIS, a customer can check inventory at a local store, buy online and pick up the purchase within five days – getting what they want faster, without worrying about shipping. Order updates can be sent by text or email. Store teams who participated in the pilot reported add-on sales when customers came into to pick up their orders, adding to benefits for the business.
Customers can now use BOPIS at Athleta, Banana Republic and Old Navy. The online BOPIS experience folds seamlessly into the current cross-brand shopping experience at all three e-commerce sites of the participating Gap Inc. Brands. One shopping cart, one checkout. BOPIS is the perfect service for Athleta, Banana Republic and Old Navy customers who are on-the-go and just can’t wait to look great.
