As they say in the real estate biz: location, location, location. And when it comes to location, our latest stores to open in the heart of Times Square are hard to beat.
Today, Gap opened in Times Square, joining Old Navy in a side-by-side store set up on 44th and Broadway, just in time for holiday shoppers. New York customers who enter these stores will get a unique experience, true to the city itself.
Let’s talk about size. These stores are roughly three times larger than your average Gap or Old Navy brick and mortars, with more than 10 times as many people employed.
Now for product volume. For both Gap and Old Navy, these will be among the highest-volume stores in the world, which not only makes for an exciting shopping experience, but quite a sight to see. And many will have the opportunity with roughly 450,000 people passing through Times Square each day.
Both brands are using technology to keep lines short and customers happy. Every sales associate will have a mobile device and be able to assist with checkout.
At both stores, the seating areas outside of fitting rooms are designed with special conveniences for customers to relax while waiting for their family and friends to try on product. From a concierge desk featuring touch-screen tablets linked to our look-books, to phone charging stations and “chill spaces” – each concept was designed to ensure customers enjoy every minute.
Night owls can get their Gap and Old Navy fixes with extended store hours, opening at 8am and closing at 2am every day. This is the city that never sleeps, after all. Challenge accepted.
