Inspire Customer Curiosity and Enable Brands to Test Product and Technology Innovations
Gap Inc. CEO Sonia Syngal & Supervisor Matt Dorsey Kick Off Grand Opening Today
Today, Gap Inc. celebrated the grand opening of four retail spaces for Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic and Athleta at the company’s newly remodeled global hub at 2 Folsom Street in San Francisco. The debut of these new stores adds nearly 18,000 square feet of fashion retail to the city’s buzzy East Cut neighborhood, located on the city’s Embarcadero waterfront just steps from BART, Muni, and the historic ferry terminal.
The four “laboratory” stores are part of Gap Inc.’s two-year renovation of its global hub. 2 Folsom boasts 15 floors of flexible, creative office space, a rooftop cafeteria and outdoor dining terrace overlooking the Bay, a coffee bar and lounge in the lobby, and a ground floor “Co-Lab” maker studio where visitors can watch creative teams at work.
“Our customers are central to every business decision we make, and we’re excited to welcome our hometown community and visitors alike to experience our four iconic brands inside our redesigned San Francisco hub,” said Sonia Syngal, CEO, Gap Inc. “This reimagined space invites customers into the heart of our company, where our artists and designers, data scientists and technologists, sourcing and logistics experts, customer evangelists, and futurists will test new store technologies, consumer experiences and product innovations.”
Gap Inc. CEO Sonia Syngal and San Francisco City Supervisor Matt Dorsey joined a ribbon cutting ceremony this morning with Gap brand president & CEO Mark Breitbard, Banana Republic president & CEO Sandra Stangl, Athleta president & CEO Mary Beth Laughton, Gap Inc.
