Gap Inc. takes very seriously our obligation to protect the data security of personal information. On Sept. 28, 2007 we announced that a laptop containing the personal information of certain job applicants was stolen from the offices of an experienced third-party vendor that manages job applicant data for Gap Inc. This Web site has information and resources to help people who applied for employment with Gap Inc.’s Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic and Outlet stores between July 2006 and June 2007 who were affected by this incident.
As of January 31, 2008, the sign up period for free credit monitoring has expired. However, under federal law, you are entitled to one free copy of your credit report every twelve months from each of the three credit bureaus. In addition, you still can sign up for credit monitoring at your own expense.
